A message attributed to Japanese hostage Kenji Goto Jogo said Jordan must hand over Sajida al-Rishawi at the Turkish border by sunset tonight - or the pilot would be killed.

Jogo said: “I’m Kenji Goto Jogo. This is a voice message I’ve been told to send to you. If Sajida al-Rishawi is not ready for exchange for my life at the Turkish border by Thursday sunset, 29th of January, Mosul time, the Jordanian pilot Mia’dh al-Jasaben will be killed immediately.”

The parents of the Jordanian pilot have been assured that negotiations to secure his release are going in a 'positive' direction.

The information minister of Jordan said on television on Wednesday that the country would be willing to engage the group in a prisoner swap.

ISIS are hoping to get a female suicide bomber in return.

Jordan has said that they would be willing to participate should the life of Lieutenant Muath al Kasaesbeh be spared, and he was returned safley.

ISIS has warned that he and Japanese hostage Kenji Goto will die if the woman militant is not freed.
